Scouting is designed to be <strong> fun for both the young and old </strong>as well as being adventurous and exciting for everyone.

The 9th Muswell Hill Scout Grouip is a rapidly expanding, pro active group with a compact leadership team. As a result we are ALWAYS looking for extra help from simple record keeping to section leader. Perhaps you only have a few hours to spare and could help out one Thursday a month or on day trips? Have a skill such as cooking then perhaps help out at camps with cooking the meals so the section leaders run the activities.

On average every young person receives 100 hours of activities and in addition a further 5 days of camping or nights away each year. Scouting builds independence, friendship, confidence, social Skills, environmental awareness, respect for themselves and others and most importantly life skills. FACT: A young person can, as a direct result of their involvement in Scouting, offer a more attractive prospect to potential employers and universities.

We find many parents are kean to get their kids into scouting because of the fond memories they have of lighting fires or getting thoroughly muddy

The aim of the 9th Muswell Hill has always been to make Scouting a fun, adventurous and exciting activity for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Of course, in order to do this, we need adults to carry out various functions, from Section Leader to record keeper, to planning activities, collecting subscriptions, cooking meals on camp and a miriad other tasks.

So if you would like to be part of a fun and rewarding experience and make new friends, build confidence and self esteem and never be bored, please contact us. Knowledge of Knots is (k)not essential.
